General Freight Full Truckload - FTL
Full truckload shipping, in essence, pertains to the exclusive use of an entire truck for a specific shipment. Truckload shipping rates exhibit variation across different categories; nonetheless, FTL (Full Truckload) freight, as a general rule, adheres to three commonly observed maximum capacity parameters, namely the transportation of 44,000 pounds of merchandise, accommodation of 48 standard pallets, or conveyance of 2500 cubic feet of goods. Furthermore, FTL shipments are conventionally regarded as the most optimal choice when the cargo in question exceeds a weight of 15,000 pounds or necessitates more spatial allocation than that accommodated by 10 standard pallets
General Freight Less-than-Truckload - LTL
Less than truckload (LTL) freight signifies the carriage of merchandise or goods that do not necessitate the utilization of a complete truckload. This form of freight typically entails the consolidation of numerous distinct shipments onto a single truck. LTL shipments are typically organized upon pallets and encompass a weight range spanning from 150 pounds to 10,000 pounds.
LTL freight can be shipped standard, expedited, or guaranteed. LTL freight can also be shipped with special services added. Some of these services include lift gate pickup/delivery, inside pickup/delivery, residential pickup/delivery, and reweighing/reclassification. These services require additional fees called accessorial fees.
